"Machines work like the world, they are often designed to mimic nature and one assumes because machines apparently reflect nature the analogy is reciprocal. It is not, the clockwork view of the world is at the core of where we as a seemingly intelligent species are stuck. We base actionable statements on an understanding of the Universe based on an understanding of machines. Machines are built to finite specifications, the Universe is not. Human beings like to quantify data by restricting it to discrete values. We explain our world as either or concepts which don’t account for data meaning this and that. There is no such thing as quantum mechanics, we made it up. It defines a perfect world view in an imperfect world, a world which far from perfect has no real interest in the meanings we assign to it. We need to forget everything and start again. We need to fund special schools which train children in nothing and wait for the natural philosophers among their societies to start to think again.
